From The Antarian Rangers
Welcome Year 15
With the Start of Year 15 as has become customary I would like to announce some promotions from within Aratech.
Lueving Tonato who has for many years now served faithfully (almost to his third year of service but not quiet) I would like to announce his promotion to Master Petty Officer in Aratech and Lt. Commander in the Rangers.
Torth Ladar who has served well for the last year to the rank of Engineer in Aratech, with a rank of Chief Petty Officer in the Rangers.
Gwazi Magnum who has only served a short time but made great strides to Engineer Apprentice in Aratech and Petty Officer in the Rangers.
These three men have done great work for Aratech in the past year. Without them we would not have had as successful a year as we have. We thank them for their service.
We have done well this past year, sales in early Year 14 were brisk but slowed as the year progressed due to tax changes that hit most governments and other entities. It is hopeful we'll see a new upswing in this coming year. We recently doubled our factory capacity on Asher I and have also signed a deal to construct factories on Urce IV in the coming year.
We have expanded our freighter fleet. We now have 4 GR-75s active in the fleet. We also just before the close of the year completed our first Brayl class Freighter that shall join the fleet. In addition we have acquired 3 squadrons of Y-Wings and 2 squadrons of R-41s to help defend our stations and ships as they ply the trade lanes.
We have also had to say goodbye to a few friends. Onasha Katr was a member of Aratech many years ago, an artist of great skill, she had left the corporation to join the Jedi Order. Sadly she joined with the Force not to long ago. Along with her we must bid farewell to Ryn Man, who had later in life gone by Dorn Ambrose. Ryn had rejoined then left Aratech again in the past year. Ryn was overeager but I had great hope for him in the galaxy. Sadly his light was cut short and he too has joined with the Force now.
I would like to announce that the next pay period (jan 2013) that Aratech will double its wages again. I believe we need to pay higher wages in order to retain and to acquire top talent. We've had trouble attracting researchers in particular. This increase in wages is going to place additional pressure on us to produce and sell vehicles. To this end we'll be looking at some deals for this new year and perhaps takes on some older ideas. I really appreciate what everyone does, even if time limits you from a more active role, just showing up and communicating means a lot.
I would like to award two awards this year though.
The first to Lueving Tonato. I would like to award him the Aratech Betterment Medal for his services.
To Torth Ladar I would like to award a Letter of Commendation.
I don't want Gwazi to feel left out but he's only had about 6 months in to soon for an award, but nevertheless if you continue as you have been I'm sure one will come in the next year :).
I hope we'll continue to have prosperous years, and I hope the year ahead is more prosperous than the year left behind. May the Force be with us always!
Rangers Mourne the Death of a True Ally
by Vip Fortuna
Today the Galaxy received word of the sudden and unexpected death of a True Ally.
Onasha Katr joined the Rangers in Year 10.
Ku`Bakai Roche of Aratech had this to say during the ceremony:
Onasha will be sorely missed.
Dissolution of Uukaablis Trans-Systems
The vehicle industry is a field where few seem to tread. Today one of those few fell after nearly seven years serving the galaxy. It was a bright hope for the galaxy when it came onto the scene. It filled a niche for years until leadership plagued by declining health was unable to keep activity levels high enough to meet demand.
Prior to his declining health Sharad Waador had guided UTS into prosperous times. He is an entrepreneur and we hope that this small set back does not discourage him, that his health will improve and that he will return to the field in the future. We offer heartfelt sympathies to UTS employees displaced by the closure of the company.
UTS leaves a number of vehicle designs now abandoned among them the Amphibian Hover Boat, the CAVw-PX-10 and the Platoon Hover Craft. Aratech had tried to last year rent uses of the Amphibian but we were not able to secure uses, it is a design in the future we might try to revive.
The closing of UTS also leaves Aratech as the sole holder of the THX-1138 design. Often overlooked it is useful in many terrains, we had not built any recently but may reconsider now, our researches are looking at an upgraded version but that's a few years out yet.
May the Force be with Sharad Waador and his valiant crew as they seek new opportunities.

Aratech R&D has breaththrough
Our research facilities on Xo I have had their first success. In cooperation with other research facilities throughout the galaxy in a rare move of cooperation across companies and governments we are proud to announce that a new product is available in the galaxy.
Originally envisioned as an armed troop transport to fill the needs of planetary governments throughout the galaxy the Hover Transport TC9 has taken on new meaning with the Derra Plague and the war raging across that planet.
The well built hover transport can carry up to 18 men. That's enough for a full squad plus some support staff. It also has sufficient cargo capacity to allow those men to operate independent of a base for some time.
To assist in planetary control the TC9 is armed with twin heavy blasters to soften up any targets before disembarking her troops. It is expected that the transport will be popular for planetary defense garrisons, hunters, mercenaries and the like.
As the research was a cooperative effort, involving many corporations and governments the datacards of the TC9s manufacturing have been shared with all involved in the process and will be made available in the future to any future vehicle manufacturers to help get them off the ground.
Aratech plans to offer the TC9 at the low price of 460306 credits per unit. The first units will be on the assembly lines within the next few days.
This was President Roche.
